About
A small practice that plans rooms from the inside out
Jeanne Yendrek Jagow is an interior design practice in Loveland, Colorado. We measure, map and decide before anything is bought or moved, so the decoration that follows has something solid to stand on.
How we see a room
One room, reviewed as a whole
A room is not a collection of objects. It is a set of decisions about space that the objects then have to live inside. When we walk into a room we look at it as one connected thing: where the light comes from at eight in the morning and at eight at night, how people cross it with groceries or a laundry basket, what the eye lands on first and whether that is where it should land.
Most of the rooms we are called to are not badly decorated. They are undecided. The palette was chosen in three separate trips, the sofa was picked in a showroom under lights nothing like the room's, and the lamp in the corner was a compromise from a previous layout. Our work is to put those decisions back on one table, in one order, under the room's own light.
That order is fixed: measure, circulation, scale, palette, light. It is the same for a rented apartment and for a whole home, and it is described in full on the services page.
Who the work is for
Rooms that work before rooms that impress
We work with homeowners and renters who want rooms that work before they want rooms that impress. Some are furnishing a first place and would rather not redo it in two years. Some have lived in the same house for a decade and can no longer see why the living room feels wrong. Some are renting and need a plan that travels with them instead of being nailed to the walls.
What the clients have in common is a willingness to decide things in order. If you would rather measure the room, walk its paths and settle the palette before a single delivery arrives, this practice will feel familiar. If you are looking for someone to arrive with a truck and a vision, we are not that studio, and we will say so in the first conversation.
Where we work
Loveland, Fort Collins and the northern Front Range
The studio is in Loveland, Colorado. Walkthroughs happen in the room itself, so most projects are within an easy drive: Loveland, Fort Collins and the towns of the northern Front Range. Further afield, planning and palette work can be done from your measurements and photographs, with the walkthrough replaced by a video call and a posted sample box.
Front Range light is its own material. High, dry, blue in the morning and amber by late afternoon, it changes a paint sample more between breakfast and dinner than most people expect. Every palette we settle is reviewed in the room, at the hours the room is used, for exactly that reason.
